The icon’s longtime makeup artist Gina Brooke applies a mixture of crushed, flawless diamonds and white eye shadow to the star’s lids for every performance. “The resulting brightness and glow from Madonna’s eyes captivate the audience,” says Brooke, who was inspired by the song “Ray of Light.” Whether it’s Madonna’s political stances or sparkly gems that grab the crowd’s attention, the key to pulling off this eye look is the shimmery shadow.Brooke uses shu uemura’s pressed eye shadow in ME White 906, $20 (shown right).-1 On a budget? Try L’Oreal’s Wear Infinite Eye Shadow Singles in Frosted Icing, $4.48. “A little sheen helps enhance the eyes and gives an instantly younger appearance,” she says. Take note ladies because this makeup trick will benefit you just as much as the 51-year-old star. BG tip: In addition to applying it to lids, dab the pearlescent color along the inner corners of the eyes–one of my all-time favorite techniques–to instantly brighten the area. All that’s left to complete the look is black liquid liner, false lashes and a nude lip.
