The finale of my trip to Barcelona was a gala with Grammy winner Shakira. Held at a beautiful mansion just outside the city, the evening began with cocktails and appetizers overlooking the gardens. We then went inside for a question and answer session that was moderated by hilarious celebrity stylist Robert Verdi.
Shakira, who admits she gets nervous for live performances, looked stunning and confident in thigh-high boots and a fitted purple dress. What blew my mind is that she does her own hair and makeup. She says, “It’s faster and cheaper.” Not only is she a talented singer, mom and philanthropist, she’s as down to earth as they come. Even close up, her skin is flawless, and she doesn’t wear foundation. Instead, she relies on vitamin c to keep her complexion even and radiant. Her other staple is vitamin e, which she often applies when she’s on the road to keep her skin hydrated.
This event was put on by Crest 3d White to celebrate the brand’s partnership with the singer as their new global ambassador. They rolled out the blue carpet for this one, so I wanted to share a few photos I snapped during the evening.
Cocktail hour outside the mansion.
Me with celeb stylist Robert Verdi inside the dinner. Robert dresses A-listers like Eva Longoria, so when he told me he wanted to have my dress in his closet, I had to take advantage of the photo opp. I was a real life fashion “Do!”
