If you’re one of those people who’s already excited about getting out your sweaters and scarves, cool your jets. We’ve hardly had enough warm days to get through half of our summer wardrobe, so the least you can do is give us the pleasure of riding out the rest of the season. While you’re busy fluffing your fleeces, I’ll be walking around in my summer midis.
I’ve never been a black and white person; I’m all about the gray, which is no surprise considering I chose the most subjective profession possible — writing. To that effect, I love a midi skirt. The midi skirt, a.k.a. a skirt that falls somewhere in between (usually below your knees and above your ankles around the mid-calf), is not only great for now, it’s the perfect piece to transition to autumn. Plus, it’s totally on trend. You can pair with a shirt or a sweater, sandals or boots, and it will never go out of style. P.S. The last time I wore this skirt, many, many years ago when the iconic Bill Cunningham was the only one doing street style photos, he snapped me leaving the Bryant Park tents during New York Fashion Week, and I ended up in The New York Times Sunday Styles.
