A juicy vampire flick or blood red-lipstick is one thing, but the Vampire Facial takes this fad to a whole new level. Sound a little bizarre? You’re telling us! Available at participating plastic surgeon offices, this $700 treatment used by celebrities, most notably Kim Kardashian, is a cosmetic procedure in which platelet rich plasma (PRP) is extracted from blood taken directly from your arm and re-applied topically onto your face. The gel-like substance is said to boost collagen production and promote new tissue growth, smoothing the skin’s surface and look of fine lines. I’ll be the first to admit the name makes me a little queasy. It doesn’t qualify as cosmetic surgery, but this isn’t your ordinary facial either.
