Gloss48.com is like your friend who isn’t trying to be a hipster. It’s cool by nature. You know, like that person who looks great in a slouchy hat without trying. You won’t see the fancy, big-name brands on Madison Avenue on gloss48.com. The new beauty website features indie labels that are on the tips of everyone’s tongues. If you consider yourself a beauty trendsetter, you’ll eat it up. Here’s how it works: Each week the site introduces products from different brands at discounted prices. You can get the deal that week, or, if you choose to buy said product at a later date, you can buy it (full price) on the site. Even though it’s so young, there’s already a nice assortment to choose from: LAQA & CO. (I love their lip pencils), purlisse, Clark’s Botanicals, LVX and Prtty Peaushun are a few. And if you’re wondering why "Gloss 48" for the name (I did!), I learned the choice was deliberate. After some non-scientific research, the creators found that the average woman uses about 48 beauty-related products, toothbrush and lip balm included, throughout her day.
