perfumesThe French have a certain je ne sais quoi that comes with being French (lucky ducks!). They’re also famous for breeding master perfumers, so it’s no surprise our Fall fragrance picks are all French scents.

1. If you’re into fresh bouquets, clean lines and are an opptimist, Carven Le Parfum is your juice. The airy blend of neroli, white hyacinth and jasmine, among other uplifting florals, doesn’t try too hard. It’s simply pretty without being overly recognizable.

2. There are plenty of rose fragrances, but too often the scent comes off too strong and too old. Then I inhaled Perris Monte Carlo Rose De Taif, and I was suddenly a fan of rose. It delicately captures the musky quality of this flower at its core, but it also has faint hints of lemon and geranium that add a perfect balance.

3. If nature, campfires and the forest bring back happy memories, you’ll feel at home wearing Byredo Gypsy Water. With notes of pine needles and bergamont, the light, earthy aroma is particularly nice on a crisp day. Ancillaries include travel-size refills and a handsome leather travel case with magnetic closure (shown right).
