A producer emailed me on August 12th asking if I could do a beauty segment for the show on August 21st. Of course I said yes. Then I got to work. Between deciding which products and trends I want to feature, getting the products to arrive in time, writing the script, filling out the booking sheet and prepping my talking points, there’s a lot of work that goes into pulling off 5 minutes of live TV. Somehow it always works out, and I had the best time sharing the best end-of-summer beauty products along with new products to know about on NBC Chicago Today.

That’s R&B singer Mario and I hanging in the green room. He was on the show to promote a concert he was doing with Usher and Ne-Yo. You never know who who is going to be on the show until you get there, and this was a fun surprise. Mario was so polite, professional and humble.
