Like every working mom, I struggle with finding time for myself. I appreciate that my husband surprises me with gift certificates for spa services that are good for one year. Right now I’m sitting on a handful that will expire in a month.

Being that I branded myself The Beauty Girl, it’s really not acceptable to be walking around with unkempt brows, chipped nails and dull skin. That said, all moms know how hard it is to find the time to do basic things like eat a proper meal (lunch is more likely the uneaten crusts of my son’s grilled cheese). So, I admit, I don’t always live up to the expectations of my title.

Which brings me to my next point: when I discover a product that actually gives me results equal to what I’d get from a spa visit, I become it’s biggest proponent. That’s what happened when I tried Goldfaden MD Doctor’s Scrub (it’s available at goldfadenmd.com). I tried it the night before my FOX Good Day Chicago segment because my face looked blah and tired. After using this product, which happens to be the company’s best seller, it literally revived my complexion.

The granular ruby crystals erased the dead cells and left my skin feeling as soft and plump as it does after a professional exfoliation treatment. I also appreciate that the scrub is made with natural ingredients. It’s safe for women who are pregnant or nursing, and while it’s extremely effective, it’s gentle enough for sensitive skin. It didn’t leave me with an ounce of redness. I usually have a revolving door policy when it comes to skincare products, but this one has earned itself a permanent spot on my shower shelf.
