We went straight to the glam squads responsible for creating our favorite star beauty looks to find out everything it took from exact makeup shades to application tricks to get these ladies ready for the Emmys. Read on to discover loads of products and tips that may come in handy for your next closeup a.k.a. selfie.

 Claire Danes

Claire Danes looked absolutely stunning in her red, Givenchy dress. Celebrity hair stylist Peter Butler wisely decided that because the dress was the focal point, the hair was best clipped back with a braid that is both fresh and modern.

Here’s his step by step guide to getting this innovative braid with the same Leonor Greyl products he used:

Start with damp hair and run Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice all through your hair and then blow dry it up and away from your face using a large, round brush. For more volume in the roots, use the Voluforme spray around the face and hairline while blowing it out.

Next, pull your hair into a low ponytail using an elastic with hooks on the end to secure it in place. Then, create a fishtail braid and pull it out to make it a bit wider and looser. Then spray it with a generous amount of Leonor Greyl Laque Souple to give it texture while still keeping it structured.

Pull the fishtail braid into a low chignon (this might take a few tries, but you’ll get it)! You want to show the great texture of the braid as best as possible.

Alexandra Daddario

Alexandra was old-school Hollywood glam with timeless hair and makeup done by makeup artist Lottie.

How to get Alexandra’s classic makeup:

Prep your face with Caudalie Beauty Elixir and Moisture Sorbet. After you have prepped, apply Hourglass Immaculate Foundation and Chanel Les Beiges Multi-Colour Powder on top. Contour the hallows of your cheeks and the jawline using Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow. Blend, and then apply Tom Ford’s Pink Frenzy Powder Blush to the apples of your cheeks up to your hairline.

For the eyes, use the Dior 5 Colour Pallette #754 Rosy Tan on the lids, then apply a pair of Ardell Demi Wispies false lashes. For the brows, steadly apply Tom Ford Brow Definer in chestnut. Afterwords, stencil in the lips with Make Up Forever Aqua Lip Pencil #8C and then Aqua Rouge #8

To make sure that Alexandra’s skin glowed, Lottie used Prtty Peaushun, a product we have reviewed in the past and absolutely love! (check out this makeup artist beauty secret here).

Kate Mara

Makeup artist Maki Ryoke made sure that House of Cards star Kate Mara rocked the "rocker chic" look in her elegant J. Mendel gown using Charlotte Tilbury makeup.

How to get her modern, edgy look:

First, apply Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow skin illuminator to the entire face as a base before applying the Light Wonder foundation that most closely matches your natural complexion. Remove unwanted oils by setting your foundation with the Airbrush Flawless Finish.

For bold and sexy eyes, create a blended smokey eye look using the Luxury Palette in the Rock Chick and then apply the Rock ‘N’ Kohl Eye Pencil in Bedroom Black around the entire eye, including the water line. To accentuate the lash line, make a cat eye using Feline Flick: a black marker/liquid liner.

Then, highlight and bronze the face, nose, top of the lip, and the shoulders for a beautiful, everlasting glow with Filmstar Bronze and Glow.

For just the right amount of dewiness, top off the look with Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Iconic Nude and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Nude Kate.

January Jones

We fell for January’s fringe bangs and chic updo, which reminded us a bit of Princess Leia in a good way.

Here’s how hairstylist Renato Campora created this "Modern Grace Kelly" look using Vidal Sassoon Pro Series:

With wet hair, apply Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Mega Firm Hold Gel throughout the hair to fight frizziness and create texture. Before applying heat, make sure to spray their Heat Protect and Shine Spray all over your hair to avoid damage. Then, rough your hair using your hands.

Once dry, add more of the holding gel to the palm of your hands and split your hair into two sections. Starting on the left side of the head right above the ear, take one section and twist hair going all the way down to the neck.

Fasten the two twists at the nape of the neck using a hair tie and then spray with the ColorFinity Finishing Hairspray to hold this adorable style in place for the rest of the night!
