Stylish Winter Boots
Feb 20, 2012Compared to the booger-freezing weather we're used to, this winter has been a joke. With March approaching, the finish line is near! Until then, boots remain king. Here are 3 styles that get me through all of my activities.

(from left to right)
Restoration Hardware Luxe Faux Fur Booties. When I'm at home, I live in these. They are as cozy and toasty as they look. Plus, they're on sale for only $12 (normally $39)!
Bootie Pies are the answer for every woman who wants to get a pedicure in the winter. They turn into open-toed boots just by pushing down a flap. No more wearing flip flops home or being stuck at the nail salon until your polish dries.
Aquatalia boots. Boot shopping can be tricky because I have narrow calves and find myself swimming in most styles. These offer a snug fit, are extremely comfortable, and are weatherproof, which makes them a cute and practical buy.
Get Adele's Louboutin Grammy Mani
Feb 15, 2012
We expected Adele to be this year's Grammy darling, but who knew her nails would be the topic that blew up on twitter. The singer surprised us sporting dagger-shaped nails inspired by Louboutins. Here's how to do it yourself, courtesy of Nailtini.
1. Trying to paint the underside of your natural nail might be difficult and too messy to work with, even for skilled professionals. Use artificial nails or tips instead. Trim or file your natural nail down so it can’t be seen over the tip of your finger. Size artificial nails to all 10 fingers and set aside.
2. Paint the underside of each nail/tip with two coats of a classic red lacquer and allow the polish to dry completely. Apply 1-2 drops of nail glue to artificial nail and press onto nail bed holding in place until it sets. Repeat for all nails. Quick tip: Be careful not to use too much – you don’t want it seeping out the sides.
3. Paint tops of nails with your choice color, and then embellish with rhinestones or a glitter topcoat like Nailtini Sparkler.
Win the most adorable baby outfit!
Feb 7, 2012This photo isn't just an excuse to show off my big man (Rex is 5 months old!). It also serves a more practical purpose, which is to introduce you to one of my favorite baby brands PaigeLauren (paigelaurenbaby.com).
Rex is very happy "modeling" this classic hoodie jacket and sweatpants for many reasons. First off, he's very particular like his father and appreciates attention to detail. From the cute polka-dot pockets to the cozy fabric, which is seriously as soft as his blankie, this has become one of our favorite outfits.
What's also exciting is that one lucky reader has the chance to win a PaigeLauren baby design! We're giving away this newborn sac in emerald.
To enter this giveaway, "like" thebeautygirl.com on facebook or "follow" me on twitter (twitter.com/NPTheBeautyGirl) and RT this message. Good Luck!
P.S. PaigeLauren baby ruby and quartz pieces are on sale through the end of February (30% off) for Valentine's Day.
A Few of My favorite things...Today
Feb 3, 2012Make Up For Ever's Rouge Artist Natural lipstick in Folk, a creamy peach limited-edition color from the brand's spring LA Bohème collection.
Native Union Pop Phone is not only cool, it keeps you safe from all that cellular energy. Found it at West Elm and gifted it to family members and myself over the holidays.
KeepCup makes my Starbucks runs easy and eco friendly because it fits under standard espresso machines. You can create any color combo you want when you order it. Cheers to KeepCup for sending me mine in The Beauty Girl grey and pink colors.
Shop Nicole Miller at JCPenney
Feb 2, 2012There’s nothing quite like the exhilarating rush you get from scoring a great designer deal. Many of my favorite pieces, like my Proenza Schouler for Target dress, are the ones I've been snatching up since the beginning -- when Target first launched its now hugely popular designer collections. Other companies like JCPenney have wisely followed in this lucrative trend, and the spring Nicole by Nicole Miller line at JCPenney has some new additions and adorable looks. Nicole Miller has been doing the line for JCPenney since 2005, but sleepwear, sunglasses, fine jewelry, and bridal jewelry have just been added to the collection. See what we’re lusting over. (P.S. It's all under $100!)
Iris Apfel Brings Her Spunk To MAC
Jan 13, 2012
Jewelry designer, interior designer, fashion icon extraordinaire, Iris Apfel, has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to create a makeup collection inspired by her eccentric style. The spunky lip, eye and nail colors ooze Apfel—especially the hot pink, orange and red lipsticks. There’s a clear emphasis on color (think teal eye shadow and magenta nail lacquer) but there are a few nudes laced throughout to balance the quirky colors. At first glance the collection looks like it’d be suited for a younger crowd, but hey—the ninety year old is painting on the fun and we think she looks damn good doing it. posted by Cody

(The collection is currently available at MAC locations and www.maccosmetics.com)

First Look: Images from Maybelline's 2012 Limited Edition Calendar
Dec 31, 2011
Maybelline just sent photos from its coveted 2012 limited edition calendar to beauty editors, and as soon as I opened the images, I had to share. All of the brand's spokesmodels were photographed by Kenneth Willardt in NYC and were transformed by a dream team of creative talent including makeup artist Charlotte Willer, stylist Patricia Field and hair stylists Serge Normant and Stephane Lancien. The pics are inspiring and spectacular -- just what i hope the New Year to be. Have a healthy and happy New Year!

New Year's Eve Nails
Dec 23, 2011If there's ever an occasion screaming for sparkle, it's New Years. Here's my favorite glittery combo for nails or toes: one coat of Nails Inc. lacquer in Maddox Street topped with Nails Inc. 3D Glitter Polish in Sloane Square. It's edgy, sophisticated and finishes off a little black holiday dress.
