Get Adele's Louboutin Grammy Mani
Feb 15, 2012
We expected Adele to be this year's Grammy darling, but who knew her nails would be the topic that blew up on twitter. The singer surprised us sporting dagger-shaped nails inspired by Louboutins. Here's how to do it yourself, courtesy of Nailtini.
1. Trying to paint the underside of your natural nail might be difficult and too messy to work with, even for skilled professionals. Use artificial nails or tips instead. Trim or file your natural nail down so it can’t be seen over the tip of your finger. Size artificial nails to all 10 fingers and set aside.
2. Paint the underside of each nail/tip with two coats of a classic red lacquer and allow the polish to dry completely. Apply 1-2 drops of nail glue to artificial nail and press onto nail bed holding in place until it sets. Repeat for all nails. Quick tip: Be careful not to use too much – you don’t want it seeping out the sides.
3. Paint tops of nails with your choice color, and then embellish with rhinestones or a glitter topcoat like Nailtini Sparkler.

Give Yourself A Realistic Winter Tan
Jan 20, 2012You don't need to flaunt the fact that you were in a tropical destination during winter break by coming back with an obnoxious, unhealthy tan (it will peel off anyway). Nor do you need to overcompensate for having not been away by loading on the bronzer (it will make your face look more dirty than anything). Read the story I wrote below for makeup.com and follow these self-tanning tips for a natural looking way to warm up your winter skin.

A Standout Shadow Palette
Dec 12, 2011Finding a great makeup palette is like winning a whole new wardrobe. Urban Decay’s Naked Palette ($48) allows you to reinvent yourself a million times over. Well, maybe I'm exaggerating but you get the point. Sunlight and moonlight, bold and neutral, cool tones and warm tones, fall to spring, it covers all the bases. It’s universally flattering with gorgeous mattes, shimmers and metallics.

The twelve different shades have kept me busy mixing and matching. It seems dauntingly large, but the palette is actually very easy to navigate—you really can’t mess it up. The colors are intended to give a “naked” look, but I’ve come up with some pretty glam creations.
Here are a few of my go-to combos:
1. Everyday pretty: define crease and lower lash line with “Naked” and then apply a coat of “Sidecar” to the middle of the lid. The shimmer in “Sidecar” adds a beautiful, creamy brightness to eyes. It looks put together, yet low-key.
2. Rich and bold (left eye): cover entire lid with “Toasted” and define crease with “Hustle,” sweeping it just slightly beyond outer corners. Then, define upper and lower lash line with “Darkhorse.” The purple undertones bring out my green eyes and it’s a more done-up look without looking totally evening.
3. Midnight glam (right eye): From inner to outer corner, lash line to crease, cover entire lid with “Gunmetal.” Then, apply “Creep” to outer corners and sweep it upward just past the crease. Use the excess on the brush to define the crease. Finish with black liner on upper and lower lash lines.
The lightest shade, “Virgin,” is a great highlighter for any look. And, if you don't feel like mixing and matching, that's totally fine. Each shadow looks beautiful on its own -- especially “Half Baked,” which makes a statement and brightens eyes instantly. An extra bonus: the 12 colors also come with a high-quality brush and Urban Decay’s cult-favorite eye shadow primer.

How To Recreate Shakira's Hair Dos
Nov 21, 2011At the Latin Grammy Awards, Shakira made my best hair list. The award-winner and performer sported three different looks—all glamorous—courtesy of Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist Andy LeCompte, whose a-list clientele also includes Megan Fox, Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz. Below are step-by-step instructions to recreate each ‘do on your own.
EFFORTLESS UPDO
1. Wash and condition your hair with a volumizing shampoo/conditioner.
2. Then, apply a styling crème and blow-dry the hair with a large round brush.
3. Spray hair with a texturizing spray to create matte texture and the slightly undone look.
4. Gather strands into a loose, natural piece-y chignon and pin it with a mixture of bobby pins and long T pins.
5. Pull down a few loose pieces and curl them with a curling iron.
6. Set your 'do with a few spritzes of hairspray.
